Pitches

Write for us

We take a small number of guest essays from lawyers, architects, certifiers, cost planners and owners who have finished a Brisbane build and still have the receipts.

What we publish

Pieces of 1,200 words or more, written in Australian English, that a first-time owner in Coorparoo or Ripley could use. We want argument, method and local fact: QBCC forms, Brisbane City Council overlays, Queensland Development Code siting, soil classification, NatHERS in a humid climate. We do not want "10 tips for your dream home", city-agnostic listicles, or rewritten product brochures.

Preferred desks: costs and contracts, approvals, design and climate, and land. Read the archive before you pitch so you are not repeating a piece we have already run.

What we will not run

Links, payment and disclosure

One relevant outbound link in the body is usually enough. If a link is paid, placed as part of a guest arrangement, or otherwise commercial, we mark it rel="sponsored" and say so on the page. We do not sell unmarked links. Authors may mention their firm once in the bio; the bio link, if commercial, also carries rel="sponsored".

We do not pay kill fees. We edit for house style. We will reject a finished draft that does not match the pitch. Copyright stays with the author; we need a perpetual licence to keep the piece online.

How to pitch

Send a 150-word outline, your relevant qualification, and two links to published work via the contact form or support@worldwidebacklinks.com. Put "Pitch:" in the subject. Do not attach a finished 3,000-word draft until we ask. For corrections to published work, use the same form and quote the article URL.

House style follows our editorial standards. Images must be Creative Commons, public domain, or owned by you, and will be listed on the credits page.
